Hollywood & Dodgertown

Our next stop in California was Los Angeles area for a day.

We reserved an afternoon small bus tour of celebrity homes in the Hollywood, Beverly Hills and Bel Air areas.

The tour was 2.5 hours long and drove into the hills in and around Hollywood.  One of our sites was the Beverly Hills Hotel.  One neat fact was that the cover of the Eagles album “Hotel California” was actually the backside of this hotel.  The Beverly Hills hotel tried to sue them for using the photo but it was thrown out in court.

We saw many stars homes on our tour, one was Michael Jackson’s home.  In the middle of the photo collage, you’ll see a large black gate.  There were multiple gates on this property but this is the gate where his body was transported from the day he passed.  The house to the right in deep in the valley is Bruno Mars’ current home, there is a lot of land surrounding his property to keep people/paparazzi out.  Some of the homes were both current and previous homes of celebrities.  To name a few: JayZ and Beyonce, Dean Martin, Michael Jackson, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars(both old and new homes), Justin Timberlake, Tyler Perry’s home that he offered to Harry & Meghan and many more.

After the tour we enjoyed a late lunch/early dinner at Mel’s which is a staple in Hollywood.  After eating we toured “Walk of Fame” street where all the stars on the ground are and the Dolby Theatre and Chinese Theatre.

After visiting Hollywood we drove over to Dodgertown, Dodger’s Stadium for a night game.  There was a lot of memorabilia at this stadium since the Dodgers have been in the league for a long, long time.  The stadium is old but we do love a great old stadium, especially if it has a lot to see and do.  We really enjoyed it a lot which we didn’t really expect!
