Seattle – Washington

Arrived in Seattle a few days before we embarked on our Alaskan Cruise with family and friends.  It was nice to enjoy some family time because we were on the road for over 7 weeks at this point.

While visiting the city we walked, drank, laughed and ate “a lot”!  One of the places we visited was the Public Market – Pikes Place which everyone really enjoyed.  The market was blocks and blocks of many different eateries, vendors, bars, breweries and shops.  One of our walks we ventured to the Seattle Space Needle where most of the group did venture up to the top.  Those who did said the view was amazing.

The final day in Seattle we visited Pikes Place again in case we missed anything the day before.  That evening all 16 of us (Lorraine, Mike, Mare, Jimmy, Gina, Paul, Cathy, Stephen, Michael, Pat, Joe, Denise, Kelly, Joe, John and Theresa) enjoyed a Seattle Mariners baseball game at T-Mobile Park.  This was the first game for us since Colorado a few weeks before.  The stadium and the area surrounding the stadium was really nice.  A few bars and restaurants surround the stadium for those to enjoy a drink or dinner before the game.  One really cool feature of the stadium is that behind home plate on the upper level you could see Mt. Rainier in the distance.  After the game was a firework show and it was one of the best we’ve seen.  Just a few days before our game the MLB All-Star game was played there so there were still a lot of things around the stadium pertaining to the game.

The next morning is embarkation day! Bon Voyage!!!!
