Kennewick WA

Kennewick really does not have a lot to do but we were in town for 3 nights just to relax before the cruise the following week. Wished we would have reserved a hotel with an outdoor pool because all three days were high 90’s!  We did find time to keep ourselves a little busy with just a few day trips here and there.  Most days we were up and out as early as possible to beat the heat.

Kennewick sits on the lower end of the Columbia River & Lake Wallula.  Visited the Columbia River where the Sacajawea Trail is but we did not walk all of it because it is 21 miles long.

On another day we made our way to the Mercado in Pasco where mainly local fruits and vegetables were sold. I took a few pictures of the beautiful murals near the mercado too.  After the Mercado we ended up at the Flea Market, which reminded us of the Berlin Mart but much more Spanish influenced.

There was also a 9/11 memorial with pieces from the WTC and a dedication to those who lost their lives.  That same day we also visited the Regional Veterans Memorial which is located on the lake so it makes for a beautiful backdrop.

And of course, we cannot leave out a few brewery stops along the way!  It was a nice relaxing few days!

Up next Kent, WA for our last few nights before meeting family & friends in Seattle for our Alaska Cruise!
